The earth is believed to be 4.54 ± 0.05 billion years on the evidence from radiometric age dating of meteorite material and is consistent with the ages of the oldest-known terrestrial and lunar samples. Some people believes the 'big bang theory'. 
                           
              The big bang theory.

Big bang theory explains that there was a mass of rocks in space billions of years ago. Its exploded and divided in to many parts. (rocks.) galaxies, planets, stars,  and everything was made by this explosion. According to the big bang theory, the earth was a result of the explosion.  And it says that the whole universe is expanding, every galaxy is moving away from every other galaxy at a very high speed. But there is the question that, from where did those mass of rocks came from?!
